Carson LOVES banana's. I usually cut them up because of his gag reflex. However, today I got brave and handed him a half of a banana to see if he would do OK. He did - ate the whole thing. Below is the video I took of it cause it was funny. We LOVE how he says banana. :)

Productive Saturday
Today was a busy but productive day. It was absolutely beautiful here today, so we decided to get some stuff done in the yard. The drought has caused part of our magnolia tree to die so I decided to cut the dead off. At the same time, Cory was working on his car. The battery decided to go bad in his car and we had battery acid all over the garage. Thank goodness for Frank next door - he came over and helped Cory get it all straightened out. In the mean time, Carson found the hose trickling on the tree I was working on and decided he was going to drink from the hose. He was SOAKING wet by the time I got done. We also put out some Halloween decorations - Carson had a ton of fun helping daddy :)

Game Over
As I mentioned a few days ago, Cory went and purchased the popular game Halo 3 for his XBox 360. As predicted, he played Tuesday from 7-11pm and Wednesday from 7pm-2:30 am. He beat the game and now is exhausted. I have to say that it was quite funny walking in the living room last night to find him sitting Indian style on a foot stool, swaying back and forth with his tongue out playing the game. He was EXTREMELY in to it.

Sleepy Boy
Believe it or not, it is 6:20pm and Carson is asleep. He apparently only slept about 20 minutes at Ms. Julie's today. I came home from work, gave him his dinner, and then he laid on the deer blanket with his milk and before Cory and I knew it - he was asleep. I was able to just change his diaper and put on some pj pants and he is snoozing away. :) Since he didn't take a nap today he will more than likely sleep all night!!!
I am headed off to do my neighborly duty and help passout garage sale flyer to all the homes in our subdivision. (The neighborhood is having a massive garage sale this weekend) Have a good evening. Who is looking forward to Private Practice tonight???? I AM - can't wait for it and for Grey's Anatomy tomorrow!!!!!!

Color Blind???
Cory got up this morning and said he would get Carson ready for Mrs. Julie's house if I would drop him off. (Cory wanted to get back in the bed for an extra half an hour since he was up until early this morning standing in line to get Halo 3 at Midnight.)...so I agreed. I got so tickled when Carson came walking into the kitchen in his outfit. I immediatly asked Cory if his eyes were open when getting him dressed. He said yes- but I let Carson pick out his clothes from the drawer. The shorts Carson had on were 2 sizes too big :) Then he proceeded to tell me that Carson was going to Ms. Julie's like that and it didn't matter if he matched because he chose what he wanted to wear....so this is how he left the house...bed head and everything.

Carson's Friend...."Dog"
It is no secret that I am terribly allergic to any type of animal. Therefore, Cory and I have an understanding that there will never be any live animals live in our home. Because of this, Cory bought Carson a huge stuffed dog when he was a few months old. When Carson was little we propped him on on the dog and it just kind of swallowed him. Since then, the dog has lived in Carson's room at the end of his crib. Just recently, Carson has rediscovered the dog. He loves to pick up its face and give kisses on it's nose. To our surprise, Carson has also discovered how to pick up the dog (it's about 3 times his size). Last night, he carried the dog into the living room and plopped it down on Cory. It's almost like the dog has become Carson's new friend. (There is hope - maybe the dog can replace the deer blanket!!!) Not so fast - I came home today, to find the deer blanket spread out on the living room floor, as it normally is, with the dog, his teddy bear, and Elmo on top of the "D". At least, the dog, Elmo, and the teddy are cute ;)
BEFORE (just about 3 months old)
NOW (Just over 14 months old)

Long night...or morning
For some reason, we think Carson is having some nightmares. He woke up this morning at 2AM screaming and crying terrible. Of course, Cory and I both jumped up and went to try and comfort him. Unfortunatley, this took some time. I ended up somewhat sleeping with him in the recliner until 3:30 and then was able to get him back down in his crib. He then woke up about 15 minutes later with the same episode so we stuck him in bed with us. To say the least, not one of the three of us had a good night rest. Therefore, today was somewhat of a relaxing day. I was planning on having some girlfriends come over for scrapbooking however, they both had things come up so we rescheduled. Later on this afternoon, I convinced Cory that he should watch Carson while I took a nap ( I let him sleep him). I started out on the couch but some little guy didn't like that I was up there and he wasn't. He proceeded climb up on the couch, over me, and find a corner with his "piano". You guessed it, how was I supposed to sleep with him banging on the zylophone in my ear. Sooooo I got up and moved to the bed room. That lasted only about 10 minutes until he figured out I was gone. As I had just dozed off I heard Carson bang on the door saying "knock, knock, knock, knock" I really tried to ignore it and was successful for about 20 minutes but then came the "MOMMY" and tears. Sooooo I got up and moved back to the living room and laid on the floor. Carson liked that a lot cause he could climb on me, bring me toys, and stuff. To say the least, this mommy got no nap today and am a little grouchy tonight. :) Cory is in getting Carson to sleep and I am on my way to take a long hot shower and curl up in bed. Hopefully, we will all only have good dreams tonight.

The last few days...
...have been extremely busy so haven't had much time to write. I was so glad that yesterday was Friday and couldn't wait to get home. When I got home from work, I found that Carson had a big ouchie on his nose from the ironing board...that he decided to pull down on him. Of course, the ouchie doesn't seem to bother him, as much as it did Nana, Daddy, and Mommy. We met some friends for dinner last night. Carson had fun time playing on the restaraunt's patio with Madison. I have to say...I got a little jealous when Carson started passing out kisses to Madison. Did I mention she is almost 4 and REALLY cute? We then came home, took bathes, and Carson was alseep by 8:30. This morning, we met Nana for breakfast and now both boys...and Elmo...are in the recliner asleep. Maybe I can get a few things done this afternoon while they are snoozing. :)

Did I mention that I got Carson's Halloween costume? We are really looking forward to Halloween this year because we are actually in a family friendly subdivision with a ton of kids. I can't wait to pass out goodies to all the trick-o-treaters.

Time at the Playground
The weather here in NC has been unusually cool. Last night, when Cory and I got home from work we took Carson over to our development's playground. Carson really liked going down the slide by himself and crawling through the tunnel. He is definitly 100% boy because he LOVES to play in the dirt, grass, mulch, etc. By the time we came home he was filthy dirty and ready for a bath.

Just Call me "Mr. Banana Head"
It is no secret that we have a heck of a time with feeding Carson...and his gag reflex. So, when we are able to get some non-baby food in his tummy, we have a party around here. To say the least...we partied a lot this weekend :)
Friday afternoon, I was able to get him to eat the inside of a biscuit (yes, the outside which is a little crunchy doesn't go down good), and some little pieces of a chicken strip, minus the breading on the outside. Today, was a very good day of eating. Carson ate two pieces of butter non crust toast (never tried this before) and a banana. Usually, when he does really good for a meal then my head gets big and I think he is able to handle more new stuff. Typically, when I try something new, he hurls all over me and then I get the "I told you so" from Cory. Well, for dinner tonight, (since Cory was outside) I got brave and opened up a can of Spaghetti O's. Of course, when daddy is outside, Carson decides he loves the new "o's"and doesn't hurl all over me :) He ate half of a can. He then started yelling baaaanananan so I gave him a banana. I walked out of the room for a minute and came back in to find "Mr. Banana Head". He had banana's everywhere...including his hair.

Carson's 1st Visit to the Zoo
Today, Cory and I took Carson on his first trip to the zoo. The closest zoo is Asheboro Zoo which is about 1 hr and 45 minutes from here....so we headed out late this morning. Once we arrived to the zoo, we were very anxious to see how Carson would respond to the animals. He was very, very, intrigued by the animals - we loved just looking at his face to see his reaction. We aren't sure what he liked more, the banana trees or the elephants. After spending a few hours at the zoo, we were all worn out. Carson fell asleep on the way home so Cory is in the living room with him playing hard and trying to wear him out for bed time.

"Hiiiiiiii"...flowers
This evening when Cory and I got home from work, it wasn't in the high 90's so we decided to take Carson outside so that I could work on the flowers a little. I am not sure why I am still working on them - we are in a drought and we have water restrictions so can't even water them...but I am still trying to make them last as long as possible. Since Carson is very inquisitive and talkative (hmmmmmm wonder where he gets that from) he was all about saying HIIIIIIII to the flowers. One of our neighbors even came over thinking he was shrieking HIIIIIII at her.....had to tell her that he was just talking to the flowers :) We played outside for a bit but had to come in after Carson fell onto a bush and scrapped his cheek. We had baths, read some books, played, and now he is sleeping . I couldn't resist taking a picture of him falling asleep with his arm around Elmo....how cute...our little guy is growing up.

Oompa Loompas
Today was a somewhat quiet day. This afternoon, Carson and Cory watched Charlie and the Chocolate Factory which is the remake of Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory. I have to say that Cory and I both remember watching Willy Wonka when we were younger but the remake is somewhat different....a lot more modern. All I know is that Carson LOVED the Oompa Loompas and their singing. I walked by the living room and there is Carson bopping up and down to the oompa loompas singing..it was cute.

There's noone like Melmo
Carson still isn't feeling well today. We started his antibiotic last night and he slept VERY well. He woke up at 7:15 this morning and was back down at 9:30 until 11:45. He tried to play while I cleaned the house but since he wasn't feeling well, the "I want my mommy cause I don't feel good" thing would come on. Therefore, it took me all day to clean the house but that is OK. I decided that maybe Carson's new "Melmo" jammies from Nani would make him at least smile....

Still Sick
Well, Carson and I are still sick. I took Carson to the Dr. today to find out he has a double ear infection, a virus which has caused the rash that is on his body, and a terrible cold. Thank goodness for antibotics, so hopefully he will start feeling a little bit better. As for me, I am heading to take a long, hot shower while Daddy is getting Carson down. We have nothing planned for this weekend....just trying to recover from the bug we both have because this is the pits!!!!

Long Labor Day Weekend
I figured I better catch the blog up since I haven't posted in over a week.
Carson and I left last Thursday morning for Missouri. Carson and I enjoyed a wonderful few days with my family and friends. On Thursday, we relaxed and tried getting into somewhat of a schedule. Friday and Saturday, we played with Aunt Marci, Aunt Mendy, Peyton, and Pops. Nani was feeling under the weather, so we tried to make sure she kept her feet up and rested. Carson even got a nap in with Pops while we prepared for Peyton's baptism. Peyton's baptism was wonderful. The little guy didn't say a peep. We ended the evening with a get together at mom and dad's with friends and family. On Sunday, we headed up to the Schooler reunion at the park. Carson and Peyton loved swinging on the swings. On Monday, we had to head back to NC. Unfortunately, Carson and I woke up sick. To say the least, the plane ride to Charlotte was quite interesting...Carson threw up all over me an hour into the packed flight. When we met Cory in the baggage claim, I wasn't sure if he was going to claim us or not with our snotty noses and throw up clothes on.
Now it is almost Thursday and yes we are still sick. I thought I had the worst of it until a few hours ago and now Carson has come down with a rash over his body...in addition, to the fever and the cold. Looks like we may be heading to the Dr in the morning. What can I say....it is NEVER dull in our home. All in all, we had a wonderful time in MO.
