Haircut from Hell

There is no way better to say it!!!! And as my Mimi used to say "it's not a bad word just a bad place to go."
So yesterday we had a garage sale in our neighborhood and our friends brought over all their little girl stuff to sell with ours. We had a good time and were worn out afterwards. Carson had a good time with Baby Connelly. When they left I took Carson to get a haircut. Well the place I take him (special salon for kids) closed at 5 (it was 4:15) and they had a 45 minute wait. As we girls know - we will wait if we know we are going to get a good haircut but my boys weren't willing to be patient so we headed over to the sports salon where Cory goes. I didn't have a good feeling about it but went along. Let's just say it was a not so pleasant experience. Carson pitched a fit as the chick held his head down (this would not have happened at the kids salon) I explained to her that I wanted the back short and the top just trimmed - NOT WHAT WE GOT. It was everything I could do to get to the car before my tears and hormones kicked in. Oh yeah did I mention it isn't even straight - the woman cut it in a slant. Fortunatley, hair grows but I do know one thing - we will only ever go to the kids salon from now on.

PeePee in the Potty

Carson has done really well the last three days peepeeing in the potty. He gets very excited (so do we). We aren't pushing him but it's pretty humerous when we find him sitting on the potty with all of his clothes on reading a book.

Dr Appt

I had a dr's appt this morning. Everything with me and baby looks good according to the doctor. Heartbeat is strong at 167. I had an ultrasound and the little guy/gal was waving arms and smacking lips like crazy. Next appt is in 4 weeks and then we go 1st week in June for the ultrasound to determine sex. Lord - it is going fast the second time around.

Still Recovering and a day of "FIRSTS"

Pictures of the Ritz Carlton in Laguna Niguel - BREATHTAKING!!!

Well, I made it back from California on Thursday morning at around 7:45. To say the least, I was worn out. Carson went to Ms. Julie's and I proceeded to hit the bed until lunch time when I was to pick him up. We then came home to lunch and another nap :) Then Carson and I headed to see our very good friends new little boy. Baby Connelly arrived on Wednesday and was home on Thursday when we got the call to come and visit. Carson wasn't quite sure of Baby Connelly. He looked at me and said "don't hurt me" - I tried reassuring him that the little tiny baby was not going to hurt him but not sure that he listened. (no comments Aunt Mendy) He proceeded to talk about Connelly all evening.

Friday, I was off work so kept Carson home with me. We had the BEST day ever. After getting a little breakfast we lounged in the recliner for about a two hour cartoon show and nap for mommy as the jet lag had really set in. We played and played all day that we didn't realize we were still in our jammies when daddy came home from work ;) Friday evening, Cory got in the attic and pulled down all of Carson's baby clothes to help me prepare for the garage sale. Oh did we have fun going through that stuff. I look back and can't believe how little Carson was. The outfit that we brought him home from the hospital in looked like a little baby doll outfit.

On Saturday, Carson helped me around the house. He has figured out that he likes his potty chair now. He must have sat on hit for an hour last night reading books but no potting.

Today, after church and the grocery store we came home for lunch and naps. As you know, Carson is not a good eater so when we can get him to eat something new, we party. Well, he ate grapes today for lunch and he absolutly loved them. I couldn't get them cut up quick enough for him. Hope this lasts :) After all three of us took a 3 hour nap (LOVE IT) I decided I would see if Carson wanted to sit on the potty. Sure enough he ran right in the bathroom, waited for me to take his pants and diaper off and then sat down. Within about a minute I heard some tinkling going on. It was hard for me not to get real excited as I didn't want the pee pee to squirt out on the floor if I scared him. After he was done, I let him look at the potty and he was very proud. I hope this is the start of a big trend.

Living the Life....eventhough I am by myself

I am currently in Laguna Niguel, CA at a conference. The trip started out with my director injuring herself and not being able to join my manager and I. This may not seem like a big deal, however, they (my manager and director) were to be presenters at this conference. Well, now that she wasn't able to make the trip - I was volunteered as the fill in as a speaker. Lovely. Did I mention that I didn't pack a suit because I wasn't supposed to be in front of a big conference room full of people. OK so I got over it as much as i could as we made our way to the airport.
It only got better from here. So we got on the plane, a packed plane for the very long 5 -5 1/2 flight. Yes, I got stuck on an aisle seat with the biggest man on the plane sitting right next to me, leaning and breathing on me the whole (WHOLE) flight. Oh did I mention, the dog that was in the seat behind me that my allergies loved :) You could say I was very glad to get out of the plane. So then, my boss and I proceeded to the rental car place to get the car, and get on the 405 (BIG FREEWAY) to look down and have an empty tank of gas. You guessed it - we had a minor freak out and proceeded to go fill the car up and get on the freeway. Then we headed about 50 miles to our hotel. This is when it gets better. We pulled up to the most amazing, BEAUTIFUL, gorgeous hotel that I have ever seen. It is on the cliff overlooking the Pacific Ocean. Did I mention it is the Ritz Carlton - and I have never ever seen a hotel or room look like the one I am staying in. Guess it made the whole day better when I laid in my cozy bed last night.....only thing that wasn't the best was that I am here by myself and didn't have my babe with me. Well anyway, I will download pictures when I get home on Thursday and show you what I am talking about.

Reading and Playing

This week has been a busy week.

Carson has done very well sleeping in his big boy bed. I only had to lay down with him one night. He is very proud of himself when he wakes up in the morning saying "in my big boy bed".

The Carolina's have been overwhelmed with storms lately so haven't left the house because of all the rain since Friday night. Cory is on call this week so he spent the day yesterday on some calls and got called out at 7 am this morning. Yesterday, Carson and I had a big day in our jammies. We played in the Dora tent that daddy got him last weekend and read books.

Today, we went to church and then ran to the grocery store and came home for naps. Since waking up Carson has been playing hard. He had his first taste of watermelon and loved it. He then discovered his sunflower seeds and watermelon seeds Pops and Nani gave him for Easter were growing.

Well, guess I better get dinner started and bath time done. I haven't finished the laundry yet so will be doing that this evening.
