Family Changes

Our family of 3 has officially grown to a family of 4. On Thursday, October 23rd, Braxtynn June Spears was brought into this world. Everything with the surgery went very well and we are now home recovering. Carson is adjusting well to being a big brother and am sure he will continue the adjustment for the days to come. Mom and Dad were able to come out and spend a few days with us. Fortunatley, with everyone's help, I have been able to have a somewhat easy recovery thus far. Braxtynn is also helping out in this area as she is a very good baby and is sleeping well. Here are a few pictures of the last few days of excitement.

Fall is all around us!

Yesterday morning, while getting ready for church we received a phone call from our good friends. Because the weather was so nice, they wanted to know if we all could "pass" on church and head to the mountains. It didn't take much to convince us considering this would be the last time the "3 of us" would be doing something like this.

So here we are...4 adults, a 4 1/2 yr old, 2 yr old, 6 month old, and me...about to pop in the Suburbian. We headed up to the mountains at about 10:30. The changing leaves on the trees and the drive were absolutley gorgeous. We decided Grandfather Mountain would be our final destination as they have mountain animals and the Mile High Swinging Bridge for the kids to enjoy.

We didn't get home until 9 last night and were all three exhausted but couldn't have asked for a better day!

Last Dr appt

I had my last Dr. Appt before the big day today and man was it a long one. They ended up doing an ultrasound and a stress test since she hasn't been moving much. After 4 hours of tests - everything looks good and now just waiting for next Thursday.

Dr. Appt

I had a Dr Appt today. Nothing new. Blood pressure was good and had lost a couple of lbs. Have been having a hard time with shortness of breath the last two days - Dr. thinks the baby moved and her hiney or legs are right at my lungs pushing on them. Gotta love that! I go back next week for my pre-op and final appt. Hard to believe I am going to be the mother of TWO children in 14 days....kinda scary :)

Carson and Daddy playing

Boo'd

Last night, we got Boo'd! I don't know who liked it more, Carson or Cory. If you don't know what getting Boo'd is - it is a Halloween activity, where a container or package of goodies is left at your front door and your are obliged to go and Boo 2-3 more homes. Carson got a really cool car in our Boo'd Package. Therefore, now on my lunch break tomorrow, I will be going to the store to by our Boo stuff to return the Booing. I love living in a young neighborhood for this reason...so much fun!

One More Week down!

Monday, my team at work had a small lunch and baby shower for us. The girls at work took care of some the girlie things I was missing :) It is so nice to have such a wonderful support team and "family" of friends...I have been very lucky!

I headed back to the Dr. on Thursday...thinking...hoping I was going to convince the dr that we needed to push this c-section up but of course, no luck. All news was good. Blood pressure has been staying down, swelling is bad but is to be expected at this point, and the best news of all...dr. had a hard time believing the baby was as big as the ultrasound said last week. Therefore, we will be doing another one in approx 10-12 days and dr wants another tech to do it so we can compare. Only thing that was crazy is one of my arms has broke out in a rash but Dr. thinks it has to do with hormones changing...gotta love the hormones.

Cory has been a huge lifesaver for me the last few nights as Carson is going through a "dream/nightmare" stage where he wakes up a couple of times a night. Fortunatley, Cory for the last two nights has gotten up with him and climbed into big boy bed with him and slept there so I could try and get some sleep. Saturday morning, I woke up and walked in Carson's room to find Carson playing and Cory all crunched up, looking massivley uncomfortable, in a twin bed with rails covered up with a Thomas blanket. Cory then made the comment..."You're Welcome" - all I could do was laugh.

The rest of the weekend, I spent doing laundry, cleaning, etc. Last night was not a good night as I was having some pains and a massive migraine but we made it through it! Cory has done everything he can to make me keep my feet up today but that is really hard. Carson and I did manage to get a 2 hour nap in this afternoon so hopefully, we will have a better night tonight.
