What A Week!!!!!!

Monday was the first day back at work. It went well for both me and the kids. The adjustment in the evenings will take a bit of getting used to but over all we made it.
By Tuesday and Wed Carson was feeling worse with this cold and cough he couldn't get over. So I called the Dr. to get him at the same time Brax's 12 week appt was. Fortunately, I had some vacation time I had to use before the end of the month so Thursday was going to be Dr Day. At the same time I was dealing with the kids, Cory had managed to catch whatever Carson had. So by - Thursday morning Cory was sick as a dog and on the couch because I refused to let him have the bed since I CAN"T get sick my first week back at work. At 5 am, I decided after being up all night with Carson and Braxi that I would just get up and get ready. We headed to the Dr at around 9. Carson was very excited to go to the Dr because I told him she would give him something for his nose. When the Dr walked in - she asked him what was wrong and Carson very sweetly said, "Dr. Deegal (it's really Dr. Siegal and she is no longer at the practice but every Dr is Dr Deegal to him) I'm not deeling dood - my dody hurz" He ended up having a Severe Sinus infection and she gave him some heavy duty antibiotic for 14 days. Unfortunately, he is STILL sick and the meds have made him have really bad diapers so hopefully he will start feeling better soon because he is just pitiful right now!!!!!!
Braxtynn's appt went well. She weighs 13 lbs 15 oz and is 24 3/4 inches long. The Dr. said to keep doing what we were doing because she looked well. She did start sleeping through the night consistently for me this week. She obviously is having a good time at day care and knows that I am back at work and need sleep. For the majority of the week, she went to bed around 9 and I had to wake her up at 7.....can't beat that!!!!
Everyone is currently sleeping and I am trying to catch up on some things that have become slack since I have been cleaning up snot, buggies, and poop for the last week. Thank god tomorrow is a new week....hopefully, everyone will start feeling better.

Last week at home.

I really tried hard this week to get some stuff done that I had wanted to get done since it was my last week at home. Monday, I took both kids to daycare for 6 hours with the intention to come home and clean the house. But at 9, I started getting a terrible headache, took some medicine, and laid down and didn't wake up until 2:15. Therefore, the only "stuff" that got done was sleep for me!

Tuesday, Carson was in the bed snuggling at about 7:30 and proceeded to tell me he wanted to stay with me and snuggle and watch Dora so that is what we did.

Wednesday, I took both kids to daycare for a half of a day while I ran some errands.

Thursday, Carson went to daycare and I spent the day with Braxtynn. We did a lot of rocking and talking and snoozing but it was a great Braxtynn and Mommy day.

The day I think I was looking forward to most was yesterday. Carson and I woke up, got Daddy off to work, ate breakfast, got ready, and dropped Braxtynn off at daycare. We then headed to the mall to Build a Bear Workshop. This is the first time Carson has ever done this so I was really excited to take him. He absolutely loved picking out his animal. We ended up with a dog. He picked out a talking contraption that goes off when you squeeze his hand, he kissed and warmed up the heart before putting it in and then we stuffed him. Carson named him fluffy. Carson insisted we get the Batman outfit for Fluffy but I talked him into the Pirate jammies instead. ( I really didn't want Fluffy to cost more than our groceries for the week) We then did a little shopping and headed off to the "Chicken Nugget Store" known to you as McDonalds. After our tummies were full, we came home and played. We had an absolutely perfect "Mommy and Carson" day. Carson then went and spent the night with Nena and Braxtynn went to one of our friends house so Cory and I could go on a date. We went to dinner, a little shopping, and a movie. We LOVE our kids to death but it is nice to get out by ourselves once in awhile.

Now, tonight, I am doing all the laundry and believe it or not, ironing my work clothes for this next week. I have enjoyed immensely being at home with Braxtynn but am ready to get back to work and be in a routine. I am sure I will write early next week to tell you how it is going but think of me on Monday.

Happy New Year!

Cory and I had a relaxing New Year. We headed over to some friends house with the kids on New Years Eve and were home by 11:45 to see the ball drop. We then spent all day New Years Day taking our Christmas stuff down and straightening up the house.

I am now enjoying my last week home with Braxtynn. In fact, this morning, Carson and Brax were supposed to go to daycare but Carson convinced me to keep them home after he gave me a big hug and told me he wanted to snuggle. So we all three stayed in our jammies until 4, took baths, and then put new clean jammies on. It was so fun not doing anything except making tents, rocking, snuggling, and watching Dora.

I was able to capture this adorable pic of Braxtynn in her bean bag Nani and Pops got her for Christmas. Carson also got one but won't sit still long enough for me to get his picture. I may try again tonight.
