Nice ending to a busy week...

Tonight, was probably one of the best evenings I have had in a long time. This week has been absolutely crazy with work and I am truly exhausted. So tonight, we had soup some that I put on this morning and then we all had baths and got in our jammies for family night.

Cory put up the air mattress in the living room and the three of us jumped in and got cozy and watched Polar Express. With Carson's recent love of trains I thought he would like it but not near as much as he did. Never have we been able to keep him in one spot for more than a half hour...let alone 2 HOURS. He loved it. Would clap, cry when Santa left, waved hi and bye bye to Santa, loved the reindeer, etc. It was absolutely exactly what I needed to end my crazy, hectic, exhausting week.

I just put Carson to sleep and Cory is asleep on the living room floor. LIVE IS GOOD :)

Relaxing Weekend

This weekend was fairly relaxing. The weather has been chilly (in 30's and 40's...I know I used to be a MO girl but the good ole southern weather is now in my blood and IT'S COLD OUT HERE) so we stayed in the house the majority of the weekend. Cory put out Christmas lights and Carson took some really good naps and enjoyed watching the Wiggles this weekend. Therefore, I had some much deserved Mommy time. So, I made some more of my scrapbook cans. A friend of mine and I are looking into selling them so give me your thoughts on them...would you by one if you saw it at a craft show?

Tonight we went over to Cory's grandmothers house for dinner. Carson was in rare form and was being such a ham. Here is a video of some of the fun he had...

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!!
The Spears family wishes everyone a Safe and Happy Thanksgiving. We hope you are able to spend the day enjoying time with your family and friends.
We will be going over to have dinner with Cory's mother and grandmother this evening. Besides that we have nothing planned. Just a relaxing day at home watching the Macy's day parade and playing with Carson.
One question that dad always made us do was go around the room and say what we are thankful for. So in the spirit of not being with my family today, I am still going to answer that question. I am thankful for...
  • Cory for being such a wonderful husband
  • Carson - he is the best thing that has ever happened in my life - I can't imagine life without him.
  • My family in MO and in NC - whether we are together or not, I know they are with us.
  • My friends - they help me get through the days
  • My faith in God!!!
  • My career

These are just a few things I am Thankful for. Cory and I have been extremely blessed and are extremely Thankful for everything in our lives.

Have a great holiday with your family.

Choo Choo

So, I bought what I thought were stickers but were really tattoos....of Thomas the Train. Tonight, I put one on his tummy. He walked around lifting his shirt up and saying choo choo.

Trying not to sink or drown!!!!

I just realized that I haven't blogged in over a week!!! Does that give you any sense of my crazy schedule. Between work and home I am truly surprised I am able to function...but you gotta do what you gotta do :)

Let's see....over the last week and a half we have had a sometimes happy, sometimes cranky, sometimes feeling yucky little boy. I thought the first round of teeth were bad....NO - this second round is terrible. How come none of the moms out there told me that part?!?!?! On most nights, Carson gets a straight 10-11 hours of sleep, if not more. But recently, with the teeth thing going on, the kid is killing Cory and I. He also had a bit of a stomach virus/cold last week that didn't help the situation. The only thing that he wanted to do was to lay on the "D" with his Elmo blanket. Oh well...as grandma used to say - this too will pass!

While all this at home was going on - work has been crazy. I am one of the project managers on a HUGE recruiting initiative that will impact every Lowe's Store (approx 1450), their Human Resource Manager, and all internal store employees. For the last few months, I have been told by my manager, director, and VP that this huge. Truthfully, I don't think I realized how big this was until I had to present to everyone and their mother last week the demo. Nothing like PRESSURE. So now until "Go Live" Feb 4th my life is not mine...it's Lowe's. Fortunately, Cory and Cathy have been a huge help with Carson on those nights I don't get to come home on time.

With all the hectic stuff going on, we decided this weekend to somewhat relax. Today, we had company over to do some scrapbooking containers. ( I am dying to show pictures, but they are going to be some Christmas gifts so can't) Davie and Cory watched football, while Kelly and I did our scrapbooking. Carson was lucky to be able to play with Madison. We were really happy to have them over as Madison just got home from the hospital on Thursday. She is the 6 yr old daughter of our friends who was diagnosed with leukemia in Feb. About two weeks ago, (in simple terms) she came down with an infection that turned into pneumonia. It got really scary because she is on chemo and at the time of her getting sick had no white blood cells to fight off anything in her system....and today she was sitting in our computer chair playing computer games with Carson!!!! Cory and I went and saw her while in the hospital and we were floored today at how she has fought and was able to come home. NEVER under estimate the power of prayers because she is proof that prayers are answered!!!

Well, enough writing. I have both boys in bed and now I am off to get on my laptop and finish up doing some "Lowe's" work.

Quiet Night

Tonight has been quiet. Cory is currently knocked out asleep on the living room floor and Carson has been asleep since 7. I think Carson may have a little stomach bug. He had the whole throwing up thing last night, grumpy and clingy today, and has not been able to keep anything down. Hopefully he will sleep good and wake up feeling better. As for me, I did not bring ANY work home tonight to enjoy my time with my boys....and they both fell asleep early :(

HELP!!!!

I think overall Cory and I are pretty good parents. However, we are in need of advice, help, something!!! I am not aware of this stage (at least, I hope that is what it is) and will take any suggestions on how to make it end.
Our child, the perfect, sweet, little angel he is is going nuts. For the last couple of nights, we have found him BANGING HIS HEAD ON THE WALLS. Out of nowhere, he will walk up to the wall, put both hands on, and bang. At first, I couldn't believe it but quickly came to my senses when he banged his head on the GLASS OVEN DOOR...twice...really hard!!!! Lord - I thought he was going to break the glass. He thinks it is funny...just looks back and laughs. It is very random also. He will be very calmly sitting on the floor reading a book or playing then will get up and go bang his head. We kept telling him to stop cause he was going to get a big ouchie but that doesn't seem to work. I originally thought - let him keep doing it and he will eventually do it hard enough he won't do it anymore. But them, I don't want him to hurt himself, tear up the walls, or break my oven :)
IS THIS NORMAL???????

Walk in Daddy's Shoes

Carson has figured out how to put on daddy's shoes!!! It is kinda scary to think that before we know it, Carson will probably be in the same size or bigger.

Wow, I can't believe I haven't put anything on here since last Tuesday. Therefore, forgive me for the length of this entry.

Halloween night was fun. We had some friends over for pizza and then the dad's took the kids trick or treating while us moms passed out candy. Carson loved his pumpkin costume and his friend Madison was dressed up as bumble bee. Unfortunately, we were unable to get any pictures with both of them looking cause they were fascinated by their glow sticks.

Friday night, Nana watched Carson for us while Cory and I ran to Charlotte to see our good friends, Davie and Kelly. Their daughter, Mattie, was diagnosed with Leukemia back in February and is in the hospital. Because she is on chemo, her white blood cell counts go up and down. Unfortunately, her white blood cell count was not even registering and not able to fight off anything. Therefore, she has an infection and pneumonia. It sounds like today she was feeling a little bit better. We continue to pray for her and her family and ask that you do the same.

The rest of the weekend was filled with laundry, errands, yard work, etc. Carson always loves to help me with the dishes and laundry. As I turned the corner in the kitchen this morning I saw this...

Can you tell by the look on his face that this is a NO NO...he knew he was caught :)
