Lollipop

Carson recently got a new book that has a picture of a lollipop....so when the litte DumDum suckers came in the bag of Halloween candy, I thought I would give him one. He wasn't quite sure what to do with the "lollipop" but quickly figured it out. He also has a message for Nani and Pops in MO....

Carving Carson's Pumpkin

Sunday afternoon Cory and Carson went outside and carved Carson's pumpkin. Unfortunately, after Carson picked up some of the pumpkin guts and had the stringy part in his hand he gagged. Therefore, Daddy finished carving the pumpkin while Carson enjoyed playing outside in the yard with his ball and the hose.

Balloons

This afternoon, we went to the Carolina Balloon Rally. Cory and I went a few years ago and it was a lot of fun so we thought we would take Carson since he loves balloons and the sky. It was very exciting to see Carson wave bye bye to the hot air balloons as they would take off. All together, probably 30-40 balloons took off in a matter of about 40 minutes. It was a beautiful afternoon and we had a great time.

I am alive :)

Someone asked me today why I haven't wrote on the blog for the last few days so thought I should write something tonight.
Lordy, things have been busy and I haven't been feeling up to par. With the weather changing, my allergies, asthma, etc are killing me. Work is slaughterying me right now however, I really try and make a point to leave work by 5:00 since I am away from Carson all day. Fortunatley, one of our vendors who was supposed to take me, my boss, and my director out to dinner tonight cancelled and I was able to be home with my boys. So on the way home, I had to stop and get some things at the store. Got home a bit ago, got the boys dinner, gave Carson a bath, and now he is asleep (very early tonight) but I am not complaining.
I am headed to take a good hot bath with my bottle of wine....yes I said bottle not just a glass...my US Weekly and People magazines. Have a good evening - I am going to:)

Busy Weekend

Wow!!! Have we had a busy...but fun weekend.

Friday evening, Carson and I attended a Southern Home Living Party. Because Ms. Kim's house isn't baby proof, I was really concerned and praying that Carson was going to be on his best behavior. Of course, he was. He played very well and with the ladies and was the center of attention.

Saturday, we visited our friends Davie, Kelly, and Mattie's house. Us girls and Carson went to a Christmas craft show and then went and barbequed, watched a movie, and headed home late Saturday night.

Today, we had a great family day. We met some more friends, Trey, Nicole (+baby), and Madison, and went to the annual pumpkin patch and hayride at Patterson Farms. Carson was just a little peon last year when we went so we were hoping he'd enjoy it this year....and he did. Of course, he is going to be a pumpkin for Halloween and is very good at saying the word pumpkin. At no surprise to us, he went nuts when he saw the pumpkins....picking them up and climbing on the pile of pumpkins. Daddy let Carson pick out his very own pumpkin in the patch. Stay tuned for updates on Daddy and Carson carving the pumpkin next weekend :)

No Smiles

I took the day off today since Ms. Julie was unable to watch Carson. Therefore, I decided to take Carson to get his picture taken in his Halloween Costume. He absolutley loves his costume so he wore it for at least an hour before his pictures and a good hour afterwards. However, the pictures weren't so hot ;( He wouldn't smile. He wasn't crying or anything....just wouldn't smile. 72 pictures later - still no smile. So, I now have Halloween pictures of a really cute pumpkin costume and a really sweet boy and no smiles.

The Ghost is a friend now

This is Carson's Halloween present from Nani and Pops from last year. I got it out a few weeks ago and Carson has been absolutely frightened of it. We have been working with him and he has recently figured out the ghost is nice and loves to dance and sing with it.

Cory and Carson

OK - So I am sitting here in my hotel room in Chicago. Don't really have much to say right now except I REALLY miss my boys!!!!! I can't wait to get back home tomorrow night. It has helped knowing that when I call, Carson gets on the phone and knows who I am and tells me he loves me.
I have done well up until tonight when a man stopped me and my boss on the street and asked if we could "help us out." We politely said we didn't have any cash and kept walking. As I passed the gentleman, I realized he was pushing a stroller with a big blanket. ( Did I mention it is down in the 40's and extremely windy and cold?) At first the thought crossed my mind that is was fake because all you could see was a blanket. However, when I got a closer look I discovered it was a little boy about Carson's age sleeping. It has torn at me for the last 30 minutes thinking about how cold that little boy must have been. That is why I can't wait to see my boys....especially Carson.
I know as I lay in bed tonight, I will be saying my prayers thanking GOD for what he has given me in my life. Never forget to THANK GOD for the many blessings that you have in your life and NEVER EVER take anything for granted.

Down for a nap :)

Carson is finally down for a nap. He hasn't been sleeping well the last few nights because of his teeth. He is getting in his side molars and it is not fun.
After spending Friday night cleaning the house, we headed off to Hickory (45 minutes away) yesterday for some shopping. We were able to get Carson some clothes for this fall. Since I am headed off to Chicago on Tuesday, where the weather outlook is in the 50's and 60's, I decided that maybe I need to spiff up my fall wardrobe at little early also. I haven't had to do that here since it is still in the high 80's. On the way home, we stopped by Cory's Grandma Cash's for a visit. Carson really likes to play her piano. The whole time he is playing (banging) he is saying "boom".
Well, I guess I need to take advantage of Carson sleeping. I need to prepare for my trip this week. I am not sure who is not looking forward to my trip more, me or Cory. I am sure once I get there I will be fine and busy with the HR Tech Conference but still....this is the first time I have been away from my dub for more than a night.:( I am sure Cory will definitly be glad when I return Friday night.

Waiting for Daddy

On most days, I typically beat Cory home from work by only about 10 minutes. It is so nice to walk in the door, even after some of the hardest days, to a little boy saying "Mommy". Of course, he then runs the opposite way from me to go find something else to do or play with. For the last week or so he has been going to the door and saying "Daddy" expecting him to pop through the door and then just standing there until Cory gets home. Today, I was able to get a picture of it. He literally just stands there saying "Daddy". Unlike me, daddy always gets a hug from Carson when he gets home ;)
