Time of the day....

...when I am most blessed to be a Mommy and a Wife!!!

Cory and the OB's office

So I can't believe I forgot to mention this in my blogging yesterday but have thought about it a few times today and knew I had to come home and write about it.
For those of you who know Cory, you know how laid back he is but know that he can't sit still for more than 30 minutes at a time...he constantly has to be doing something. Therefore, asking him to go and sit with me for a 3 1/2 dr appt yesterday was a reach for him but he graciously agreed. There we are sitting in the OB/GYNO office, he proceeds to not watch me get my blood drawn 4 times cause it bothers him they are sticking me, then he turns away when they weigh me, and we watch pregnant women come in and out of the office....that or older women coming in for checkups...Let's just say it was quite an adventure for him. BUT.....after 3 hours we finally had the appt with the dr. The nurse takes us in the room, takes my BP, and then I sit up on the table/chair thing while Cory sits in the chair facing me while we wait for the dr. Next to him, there is a little cabinet with magazines and some poster things on the wall. All of a sudden, the vagina poster (VERY GRAPHIC vagina poster) comes flying off the wall and lands on Cory's lap. After hearing something fall, I looked up to him smiling a huge smile and saying the vagina wants me!!! Let's just say it was everything we could do to maintain our composure from laughing hysterically as I knew at any moment the Dr was going to walk in. Fortunatley, we were able to act like adults by the time the dr opened the door. Just don't think Cory will ever go back with me unless I am able to make the Vagagae poster fall on him again.

Day of Dr. Appts

My Dr Appt update:
We had an ultrasound today that confirmed our little girl is growing. She weighs approx just over 2 lbs. She was very lady like in the picture with her legs crossed but then she graciously opened them to show she was indeed a girl. (No Worries, Pops, - we know you were concerned considering you painted her room pink) They did tell me she was measuring a week early putting us to October 23rd. If my blood pressure remains good (was 116/70 today) they will schedule the c-section at 39 weeks so looks like anywhere between Oct 16-23rd she will arrive.
Carson's Dr Appt update:
Carson did very well at his 2 yr well check up today. He weighs in at 30.2 lbs (75th %ile), is 37 inches tall (>95th %ile), and head measuring in the 95th %ile. Fortunately, he didn't have any shots today and none until he is 4. Dr. Siegal said he looked good, talked very well, and for us to stop worrying about his bad/no eating habits as he is growing and he will eat when he is hungry. After Carson's dr's appt we took him to eat "banilla ice cream" and to the library where he picked out some books and movies.
As for me, I am plum worn out tonight as we were gone all day. I just got out of the shower and Cory just got Carson out of the bath. Hopefully, we will all sleep good tonight.

Fun Filled Weekend

This weekend was a lot of fun and somewhat relaxing.

Friday night, we headed to the hospital to see Mattie as she has been in with a fever since last Tuesday. However, we weren't expecting her to be having wheel chair races in the hallway with a BIG syringe shooting people with water. Unfortunately, her fever spiked early Saturday morning so looks like she is going to be in there for another few days.

Saturday, we went to our friends house for a shrimp bowl and pool party. Carson had a blast going off the diving board with Mr. Trey. He even shocked Cory and I with how independent he wanted to be in the pool....thankfully, they had some hot pink floaties to share with Carson.

Today, after church we came home, took a quick nap, and headed to the mall. Nicole and I found some great sales at the Carter's outlet, Oshgosh outlet, and Motherhood maternity for me.

Cory is now at the movies, Carson and I are getting our baths taken and going to go to bed early as we both have Dr's appts tomorrow. I have a 3 1/2 hour dr appt in the morning with blood work... have to take blood for every hour for 3 hours - and I am a hard stick :( Have to have an ultrasound to make sure Braxtynn is growing (if you saw my belly and/or her moving all the time- you wouldn't question) however, the dr just wants to make sure she is on target since I am not gaining weight. Fortunately, Cory took the day off so he is going to join me at the dr's office so I'm not bored. Then we head to Ms. Michelle's to pick Carson up for his 2 yr well Checkup. Not sure how it is going to go with him as he has to have shots and it is during his nap time. I know...lovely timing on my part to schedule his appt at napt time but that is the only time the could do and since I was already taking the time off from work - I really wanted to do it this day. I'll let you know how both appts go and if Cory survives our moodiness tomorrow.

Conversation

Here is what I overheard Carson saying to Cory tonight. Cory was out mowing the yard and Carson was watching him from the window. I only wish Cory could have heard the conversation. Keep in mind, Cory's nickname for Carson is Big Dubey. It has evolved over the last two years from CW to Dub to Dubey to Big Dubey. But now that Carson is older and he mimics what you say, Cory has now become a Big Dubey also.
"There you are!!! I see you Big Dubey. Hi Big Dubey. Whatcha doing Big Dubey? Mowing da yard Big Dubey. I wearing a shirt just like you Big Dubey."
Moral of the conversation....Cory really needs to stop referring to Carson as big dubey!!! I wonder what Ms. Michelle thinks Big Dubey is if he says that at daycare?!?!?!

FINALLY...

Carson slept all night last night!!!!!!!!! There was no getting up and down...no whinning...nothing. Therefore, I went to sleep at 9:30 last night. I do have to say a terrible storm came around midnight and the thunder woke me and then shortly after there were two big claps and Carson started screaming. Cory was still awake so he brought Carson in to lay with me where he went right back to sleep and after the storm was over Cory took him back in his room.
Just had to share my joy of getting to sleep for almost 9 hours last night....and only having to get up to relieve the bladder from Braxtynn kicking once! What more can a girl ask for :)

Daycare Update

Well, the 1st day of fulltime daycare went FANTASTIC!!!! Carson had a blast with Ms. Michelle. I have to say he was extremely happy to see me when I picked him up which made my day. Let's hope the rest of the week will go well and he will get into a routine.

FULL MOON or TERRIBLE TWO's????

I LOVE my child to death but lord he has been testing the waters this last week and weekend. He's not eating and not sleeping. Not sure if he has to do with the messed up routine he has been on the last 2 weeks or if it is the moon. He didn't go to bed until after 11 last night and was up wanting cereal at 5:30 this morning. By 8 he had been in time out twice, had destroyed the living room, and bouncing off the walls. Therefore, I knew he wouldn't make it through church as he would probably die of exhaustion around 11 and sure enough he did. He did take a good nap, only to wake up to our friends, Kelly, Davie and Mattie. Mattie and Carson played their "instruments" which made Carson's day. Mattie played with him outside on his swingset and was instructed to WEAR HIM OUT...which she tried really hard but here it is 9:33 and he is STILL not asleep eventhough I put him in his bed at 8:45. As a matter of fact, since I have sat down at the computer he has gotten up 3 times and I have put him back in his room. Hopefully, it will hit him real soon because he has a big week. He starts his new, full time daycare in the morning and know it is going to be a real adjustment for him as well as us. I'll let you know how tomorrow goes....hopefully Ms. Michelle won't terminate us the first day ;)

Baby's Name

Cory and I have decided on a name for our little girl.

Braxtynn June Spears

She will be named after Cory's grandmother, June Cash. Carson has already got used to the name and calls the baby - "Baby Braxon"...not too bad for just turning 2.

Birthday Weekend

This weekend we had an absolute fantastic time. The weekend started early with Cory celebrating his 30th birthday on Wednesday. Thursday night, Mom and Dad(Nani and Pops) arrived. Carson was very excited to see them as it was Christmas the last time. He quickly discovered how fun it was to build "architecture" out of legos with pops, read books with Nani, and show off. Of course, I had my "Daddy to do" list ready to go for dad. He installed our new microwave above the stove, painted the baby's room, and painted the kid's bathroom. Saturday night, we enjoyed an evening out for the boy's birthday. Carson had a blast opening his opening his presents. It was definitley a lot more fun watching him this year than it was last year....hopefully the 2's will continue to be that way. Mom and Dad headed out yesterday afternoon back on their road trip to MO. Thanks Mom and Dad for everything! Can't wait to see you back in October.

Almost Recovered

Well the last week and half have been crazy. Marci was out for a week and we sure did enjoy her visit. I think Carson liked "Miss Marhi" being here the best. She had him pee peeing on cherrios, putting his shoes on all by himself, etc. Marci left last Tuesday and since then we have been trying to recover. I have to say, he really really enjoyed the evenings with her as she had him bouncing off the walls and then he would sleep really well....guess Cory and I are boring ;) Marci and I did get to get out for a few hours one afternoon and went and had well deserved mani's and pedi's...a fantastic treat from Mom and Dad!!!
Then, on Friday night, Nena offered to take Carson for his first sleep over. She has offered before but I have always been hesitant as he has never been away from Cory or I at night before. However, this time I was ALL ABOUT IT!!!!!! I packed Carson's stuff and she took him about 4 on Friday until 5 on Saturday. Cory and I had a good evening with some friends of ours who were childless since their daughter was at camp. We got home about 11 and were in the bed by 11:30. We didn't wake up until 10:30 on Saturday morning. That may not sound like a big deal for some of you....didn't sound like a big deal to Cory either. BUT FOR ME THIS WAS HUGE...WONDERFUL...OUT OF THIS WORLD. I can't remember the last time I slept past 7:00 let alone 10:30.
Now that we are recovered, Carson is anxiously awaiting Nani and Pops's visit this week. They are driving and should arrive sometime late Thursday evening.
