Happy New Year

Happy New Year (Early)
After a long day of work, I just finished fixing a big dinner for Cory and I to help ring in the New Year. While I was making dinner, Cory got his bath and jammies on. Then after dinner, Carson got his bath and jammies on. Now I am on my way to get my bath and jammies on. We are all going to be in bed by 10 at the latest as I have to work tomorrow and Cory will have Carson all day. What a way to ring in the New Year!!!!
We hope this year it the best year yet for you and your family.

Choo Choo

Carson got a Choo Choo from Nani and Pops and Mommy and Daddy for Christmas. He truly loves it as long as the battery operated Percy doesn't fall off the tracks or looses any of the trains.
Sorry can't figure out why it won't rotate.

Pops and Nani's Christmas Present

Carson and Peyton gave Nani and Pops a DVD video of memories for Christmas.

This was the first video I have made and I absolutley loved doing it.

The "W" and the door panel

Carson got a really cool Leap Frog ABC Magnet set that goes on the refrigerator. Carson REALLY likes the letter W. Well this morning was the beginning of our routine again after being on vacation. So I got ready and got Carson ready and then we went into the kitchen to finish getting his bag ready. Carson was playing with his letters on the fridge when I shut the light out and said come on it's time to go. I then proceeded to go into my closed to finish getting dressed when out of nowhere a huge bang happened followed by massive screams. I, of course, turn around to find Carson laying on our bedroom floor barely breathing cause he was crying so hard. I wasn't sure what happened until I looked at him. He ran into the door panel, extremely hard with his head and knocked two pictures off the wall. I was expecting blood to be all over me but it wasn't. However, I did get myself worked up so bad because he wouldn't stop crying and the knot on his head was about 4 inches long and 3 inches wide and about an inch raised, that I ended up having to run to the bathroom to get sick. Once Cory and I got Carson calmed down and made sure he was OK....about 30 minutes later....we tried to figure out why he ran into the wall. You guessed it - it was that stinking "W". I guess he was coming to tell me something about the "W" and wasn't paying attention to where he was going and SMACK. I really do feel for the little guy. His head is now blue and purple and is not so raised anymore but still big. Guess he lost battle between the "W" and the door panel.

Merry Christmas

Merry Christmas. We have had a wonderful Christmas this year.

Last night, we celebrated with Cory's mothers side of the family. The kids sure did have fun and Carson enjoyed some new toys.

We then put Carson in his very adorable jammies so that he would be all ready for Santa.

This morning, we woke up and got ready for Cory's mom, aunt, and cousin to come over. I made a big pot of Homemade chicken and noodles and mashed potatoes. It was a very relaxing day. I was really glad of that because Carson and I are still sick and Cory woke up this morning with aches and a cold.

Carson got a lot of books, legos, Thomas the Train stuff, and pots and pans. He loved talking on his new phone and cooking for us.

Tomorrow starts the grind again. I have to admit, I am really looking forward to going back to work. I love my child more than anything in this world but I am not a stay at home mom. Kudos to all of you who are!!!!! I know that he is probably ready to go back to Ms. Julie's as well.

We hope you all had a great Christmas with your families and friends.

Four Generations

While at Grandma Schooler's, mom and I decided it would be neat to take this photo....I absolutley love how it turned out!!!

Home Sweet Home

We are home...YEAH!!! We made it home last night at about 7:30. Carson and I both have bad colds so slept from about 10 last night until 11 this morning and then we got back in the bed at 12:30 to sleep until 3 this afternoon. He is now playing in a vapor bath and I am unpacking waiting for daddy to get home from work.
We had a great time in MO and if I feel like it to night will upload some pictures from our vacation.

LIFE IS GREAT!!!!

Saturday morning we headed to MO for the holidays. Carson did well on the airplane and loved landing in Kansas City to the snow falling...(so did Mommy!) We spent Saturday evening playing with cousin Peyton, Aunt Marci, Aunt Mendy, Nani and Pops, Kylee, Brett and Conner.

Sunday we had our family Christmas. Carson had a ton of fun playing and opening presents with all his cousins, uncles, and aunt. He really likes the Thomas the Train set that he got from Nani and Pops. He also got a life size Elmo from Aunt Mendy and Peyton that he absolutely loves to carry around. I have no idea how we will get it back to NC unless we carry it with us.

Monday we prepared for Peyton's 1st birthday which is actually tomorrow. Mendy had some friends over and we opened presents. Peyton got a lot of cool toys and loved digging into his football cake.

Tuesday we headed up to Fairfax and Rock Port to see the Great Grandma's. Mom and I were brave and decided that we would take both boys. They both did very well with no naps and being gone for 5 hours. To say the least the both slept very well last night. The three of us then went to dinner last night at my brothers house and played Wii with the kids. Cory and I have now decided that we need one of those because they are a lot of fun. Caylie and I beat out Cory and Dalton in bowling.

So as you can see we have been extremely busy with all we have done this week. Today, we are having a relaxing day and may do some Christmas shopping and packing for our trip back home tomorrow. We have had a wonderful time on our trip this year.

We have a diagnosis

Carson continued to have a fever until yesterday afternoon. He tried to eat some crackers and started taking in fluids a little bit better. Last night, he slept through the night...THANK GOD because I was really starting to feel the effects after a few nights of no sleep.
This morning, he woke up and still wasn't his self but no fever. We took him to Ms. Julie's and then Nena picked him up for the afternoon. Because my training got over early I got home around 2:45. Nena (Cathy) told me that Carson has a few bumps around his diaper area which is not uncommon for him but just wanted me to be aware. We talked for a few minutes and then she wanted to show me the bumps that she was talking about. I lifted up Carson's shirt to discover a massive rash that you could literally almost see spreading. Of course, I tried to stay calm but since it was 3 on Friday and considering the week we have had with fevers and no symptoms...I panicked! Called the Dr and they could see us immediately. Once we got to the Dr. I gave the nurse all the details of this week and she made me take Carson down to his diaper. By 3:30 the rash had spread all over his back, his arms, his tummy, neck, throat, and was going down his legs. Here I am praying that my child doesn't have measles or something like that. Fortunately, we only waited a few minutes and the Dr came in to say that she knew exactly what was going on. She said Carson is definition of the virus Roseola, a very old virus. It starts off with a very high fever for a few days (his case was 4 days) with no other symptoms and then within 24 hours of the fever breaking a massive rash will appear and spread in a very short time. I sat there thinking...lovely...it could be worse. So then I ask the dreaded question, is it contagious? Not now she tells me....When he had the fever it was. LOVELY!!!!!! She did say it will go away in 3 or 4 days and he should feel pretty good and won't have any more fever. She mentioned that typically once people get this once they probably will never get it again. Whew - lucky there I thought....But wait I have never had this....and what about Nena and Cory who have also been around him the last 4 days. Cathy does remember as a child she had it and thinks Cory has had it. NOT ME - never had it. Now I truly do pray that I don't end up getting a fever!!!!
Now it is a few hours later and the rash has spread all over his body and face. Yes it gets worse...we have Christmas and family pictures on Sunday - have been planning them for over a month now. Cory, Carson and I have never had a family picture done so I have been getting outfits ready and was going to give pictures out for some Christmas gifts. NOT NOW - can't have a rash faced little boy with swollen eyes in the picture :) Therefore, all Christmas cards will be late this year cause we are going to have to put off pictures until we return from MO.
I am thankful that we now know what caused the fever for the past week and that CW is going to be OK. I will too -hope I just don't get sick!!!!! :)

Mommy or Sr. Recruiting Analyst - which comes first?!?!?!

I have definitely struggled since Monday on what hat to where....my mommy hat or my analyst hat....I am still trying to figure it out.
Monday morning at about 3 am, Carson woke up with a very high fever and vomiting and it's all be down hill from there. We are now going on almost 72 hours with no improvement...we have loss of appetite, loss of just about 2 lbs, no drinking, and fevers that range from 100 to 104.8. Did I mention, my child won't take any medicine without it being in milk. Therefore, we can't get meds in him so he is lifeless...just laying and sleeping...and fussy...and wanting mommy (especially tonight) Obviously, I have had about 8 hours of sleep the last three nights (4 being last night thanks to Nena who showed up at our door at 10 to spend the night to allow me to get some sleep.) The dr. is telling us that it is a virus but with no other symptoms or illness, I think they are just telling me that cause they don't know. They have told me to keep doing what we are doing and if it gets to 105 to call or take to ER.
In the meantime, this is my HUGE week at work for my project. Of course, of all the weeks this is the one week that I CAN'T be away from work. Fortunately, Monday I was able to work from home with Carson and then Cathy took two days off to help us yesterday and today. Did I mention, Cory is on call this week so he can't be out of work either. So with a lot of convincing Julie is going to help us out tomorrow and then if I have to be out on Friday, I can. Hopefully, he will be better by Friday. If not, they are going to run some blood work and possibly some tests to determine what is going on in that little body.
I told Cory last night, that I felt that I have gone back a 16 months when we brought Carson home and I was sick. I am absolutely amazed at how I am able to function at home and at work with everything going on. So when I crash and burn (probably next week) please think of me :)
