Let's get caught up!!!

OK, so I realize it has been awhile since I have blogged so let me get you caught up on the last two weeks....where to begin.

I guess you could say I have to slow down...or at least that is what my blood pressure is telling me. I went to the dr a week and a half ago to find out that my blood pressure was starting to creep up. This was a SHOCK to me as I have felt so good, haven't swelled or anything. Since I had preclampsia with Carson they are watching me even closer. After doing a 24 hr urine analysis they determined that I did indeed have the beginning stages of preclampsia. Therefore, if I don't want to be on bed rest for 20 weeks I must follow dr's orders. Fortunately, I am not stubborn (NO COMMENTS) and am doing what they tell me. I have adopted the low sodium - no sodium diet, the feet up as much as possible, stay out the heat rules, etc. etc. etc. I record my bp every other day to ensure that it is staying down or if it starts to go up. Looks like I am doing good so far as last weeks bp's were low / normal. Dr's tell me that I will probably have to have the 24 hr analysis on a monthly basis to compare the months and keep everything in check. Just goes to show you how nothing that has to do with me can go smoothly!!!!!

Enough about me...what else have we been up too. Still working on Carson and pottying. He pottied for Nena this week so Daddy went and got him a Diego Rescue truck that he loves.

Cory has been in "nesting" mode the last two weekends. He has painted the shutters, dug up my fall flowers, removed the panels on the van, and took crib down and transferred all CW's toys from the toy area in the living room to Carson's room. I do have to say that Cory didn't do all by himself. He had a little helper. However, Cory moved all the toys into Carson's room one day when Carson was taking a nap. Carson was VERY VERY distraught and upset when he went to go get a book and his toys were all gone. We told them they were in his big boy room and off he went. All we could hear were tears and whimpers so we thought we may need to go and help him adjust. When turning the corning all we saw where massive tears and a little boy trying to get a Dora playhouse and tunnel down the hall. He obviously wasn't liking it in his room but he did get adjusted and now enjoys playing in the big boy room.

Umbrella for Mickey

I am working with Carson and potty training. We got Mickey Mouse and Thomas the Train underwear for him. This is Carson and I's conversation this morning after sitting on the potty for 20 minutes and no pee pee.

Me: Carson, we don't pee pee on Mickey Mouse. If you have to pee pee we need to use the potty chair just like elmo, mommy and daddy. OK?
CW: O Tay

We then walk into the kitchen to get some juice - Carson runs to his play area. About 45 seconds after we walk from bathroom into the kitchen I hear a faucet running sound and look over to see Carson standing on his train rug peeing on legos. Not wanting to scare him - I just picked him up and we went to the potty chair. Once I got his undearwear off and wet socks off I sat him on the potty and we had this converssation.

Me: Carson, if you have to pee pee we need to pee pee in the potty like big boys. We don't pee pee on the train rug or our toys. You pee peed on Mickey and he is very sad now.
CW: Mickey donna try (cry)
Me: No, he isn't going to cry he is just sad because you pee peed on him and Mickey is all wet and he doesn't like being wet.
CW: Mickey need a umbella. (with a straight face looking at me like I was dumb)

Guess he has a point - if you are wet get an umbrella. All I could do was sit and laugh.

Vacation

It was so nice to get away from things for a couple of days and now we are back in the grind of things.

Saturday we woke up and headed to the beach. I have to say I didn't think I would be in the van riding to the beach with my child and mother in law for Cory and I's 5 year anniversary but it was absolutley wonderful and I really looked forward to a few days of relaxation. Carson did very well for the 4 hour trip due to the DVD player in the van. I truly think Cory, Nena, and I now know every Dora, Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, and Backyardigans songs on his movies. We got to Myrtle Beach about 2 in the afternoon, checked into our nice condo, and then headed to the sand and pools. Carson wasn't quite sure about walking in the sand but daddy got him used to it and they had fun kicking in it.

Sunday, we woke up to rain and tornadoes for Mother's day. Fortunatley, it didn't last long and the front passed and we were in the lazy river by 11:30. Carson was slow to get in the water but once he figured out it was fun he had a blast. We then took Carson to the Aquarium. He really enjoyed going in the tunnel and watching the sharks go by. Cory took his mother and I out for a nice meal that evening and then Nena watched Carson so Cory and I could go on a date.

The rest of the vacation was spent sitting and walking on the beach, laying on the tubes in the lazy river, or relaxing in the hot tub (of course, only my feet were able to enjoy the hot tub).

We got back home late Wednesday afternoon and back to the grind of work Thursday and Friday. We now are recovering and enjoying our weekend.

Short but Sweet

Long time no bloggin huh?!?!?!

Wow life has been crazy. Nothing much interesting this last week or so just the normal work, run like chickens with our heads cut off, etc.

Sunday, our neighborhood had Safety day where the fire trucks came out. Carson loved it and enjoyed driving the "BIG FIRE ENGINE".

Hate to cut it short, but I am exhausted and we are heading out to the beach tomorrow until Wednesday for vacation. I'm sure I will have tons to blog about when we return.
