Birthday Weekend

So, last weekend was my 30th birthday. Geez....I can't believe I am 30! Good thing, wisdom comes with age.

I had a fabulous weekend. It started wonderful by being woke up with a little "Happy Birthday, Mommy" song from Carson and Daddy. Then we had to call Aunt Marci and sing to her. Carson still couldn't quite believe that Aunt Marci and Mommy share a birthday. One day he will get it :)

We ended up having about 7 inches of snow here in North Carolina which is very unusual. I was so excited to get up and get the kids out in it. Unfortunatley, it wasn't very good snow man snow so we just played in it instead. Carson really enjoyed it until his hands got cold and then he was done. Braxtynn could have sit and watched all day if we would have let her. After playing in the snow, we came in and at the request of Cory, I made a big pot of homemade potato soup. Then we had a knock at the door and it was a friend, Jenn, who is a baker and makes fantastic cupcakes. She was delivering a dozen, double chocolate, fresh strawberry filled, cupcakes from mom and dad....What a nice surprise from so far away. Then Cory surprised me with an apple pie that night as he knows that is my favorite. All in all, it was a fantastic birthday with the our little family.
